Hilarious And Motivating Little League Baseball Dugout Chants

The good news is that there’s tons of chants that are super easy to learn and will catch on in the dugout in no time. The bad news is that your kid might become embarrassed, but that’s all part of the good fun!

Without further ado, here are some of the best dugout chants that you can use to motivate the entire team!

What Are Baseball Chants?

Baseball chants, or any chants used in any sports, are a great way to get behind the team and motivate them.

Singing catchy songs that involve players’ names can really boost morale, likewise having chants that include funny things regarding the opposition can make the players laugh and allow them to start having a good time and allow their confidence to show.

Chants are often short and sweet, as the biggest goal of the person starting the chant is to allow all the fans to join in and making them catchy allows fans to start to join in on these chants much easier.

Enthusiastic fans who start these chants tend to inspire their team to keep going, even when they may be losing, or just overall having a bad game.

For a chant to be effective, a good portion of the fans need to be involved in it, that’s why simple chants such as yells, or chanting their team name or favorite players name are much easier to get the attention of the crowd, as everyone can join in!

When To Start Baseball Chants?

Baseball is quite unique in regards to ball sports as it’s quite structured, the offense isn’t in control of the ball and the defense plays one at a time.

With other ball sports, the game can turn in the blink of an eye, and your team can suddenly be attacking, or defending and chants can be altered accordingly.

But with baseball, teams take turns for offense and defense so it can be quite predictable.

With that in mind, here are some situations where chanting can be crucial in the game:

  • Some baseball teams will start their own chants from the dugout, if this happens just join in with them!
  • The seventh-inning stretch is always a part of the game that produces dancing, singing or chanting, feel free to start a chant or just join in with one of the many that will be going around the stadium.
  • You’ll usually find chants starting when a home run has begun, it inspires the batter to keep going and to load all the bases.
  • Fans will chant when substitutions are made and a new player comes onto the pitch or even when a player comes to bat. Be careful when chanting when a player is coming to bat, as it can be considered rude and against the baseball etiquette.

Chants

Chants

This chant is one of the most famous ones you’ll hear in baseball, it’s been a staple for well over 100 years and it was written by Jack Norworth and Albert Von Tilzer in 1908.

You should already know it if you’re a fan of baseball, but if not, here are the lyrics to help you get the chant started.

Take me out to the ball game,
Take me out with the crowd;
Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jack,
I don’t care if I never get back.
Let me root, root, root for the home team,
If they don’t win, it’s a shame.
For it’s one, two, three strikes, you’re out,
At the old ball game

This is one of the easiest chants you’ll ever learn, and we’re sure the crowd will all know it anyway and appreciate it, it’s a great way to boost morale.

The other teams see us,
We scare them all awayyyyy,
And that’s because we’re the best,
Our team will win today.”
